Specialised Medical Equipment Appeal
WesleyCare has a multi-year project to install specialised medical equipment such as overhead tracking systems in all 75 rooms in our hospital wing. Thanks to the generosity of donors and philanthropic organisations, we have already installed these systems in 29 rooms.
Overhead tracking systems make a big difference in the lives of WesleyCare residents who struggle to safely perform mobility tasks such as transferring from bed, as well as those that are bariatric. These systems enable our nurses to provide high quality care to residents.
As the number of residents entering care later in life and with more serious conditions continues to grow, so too does the need to increase the number of rooms with these systems.
The current installation cost of roughly $7,500 a room means that this project has a total value of $345,000 at today’s price. These items are not funded by Te Whatu Ora and we rely on gifts from our generous supporters to meet these costs.
